“So you really have no idea what you are?” Daphne asked me for the hundredth time.
“I already told you…as far as I know, I’m just an ordinary run-of-the-mill, flesh and blood man.”
“Except you aren’t,” Louis said. He was in a terrible, broody mood. I know he blamed himself, perhaps rightly so, for the fact that Kodi attempted to attack Daphne. To tell the truth, I blamed him too, but I wasn’t going to be a d**k and rub it in.
But instead of everyone focusing on the fact that Kodi even had the chance to get close to Daphne and the baby, everyone seemed to want to fixate on me. They kept asking me questions, but I didn’t have an answer to give them. They all said I had moved so fast that I was barely a blur to the naked eye. But that wasn’t what I experienced.
