I woke up on Sunday and found Zara still sleeping beside me. I checked the time before getting out of bed. Adrian was coming over at two, and I wanted everything ready. We hadn't spent much time together outside work, so I was looking forward to his visit.
After showering, I went downstairs and found the housekeeper arranging breakfast. I asked her to prepare refreshments for the afternoon. She assured me everything would be ready before Adrian arrived. I thanked her and went into the dining room.
Zara joined me a few minutes later. She kissed me before taking her seat. I poured her some coffee while she reached for some toast. She asked whether I'd slept well.
