Sebastian and I returned to the kitchen to finish cleaning up. He rinsed the plates while I packed away the remaining cake. I was closing the refrigerator when my phone rang. Mia's name appeared on the screen.
"That was quick," I said.
Sebastian looked over.
"Your sister?"
"Yes."
I answered the call.
"Missing me already?"
"Very funny," Mia replied. "You'll never guess what happened."
"What?"
"Nathan just texted me."
"Already?"
"He asked whether I got home safely."
"That's sweet."
"Then he asked if I'd like to have dinner with him on Friday."
I glanced at Sebastian. He was clearly interested in our conversation.
"And what did you say?"
"I haven't answered yet."
"Why not?"
"Because I wanted to talk to you."
"About what?"
