Chapter 80

1696 Words

ADRIANO’S POV~ There was a silence so unnatural, so bone-deep, it carved straight into my spine and settled there like ice. A stillness I didn’t trust. Not in my world. My eyes cracked open, vision blurring. The room was dim, golden light slipping through the half-shut curtains. My head pulsed—dull, heavy, like I’d been slammed into concrete. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong. I sniffed the air instinctively, expecting Cassandra. My sweet, clean, maddeningly addictive Cassandra. But nothing. The air was blank. Hollow. And that’s when the panic hit. My head whipped to the left. The spot beside me—her side—wasn’t empty. It was occupied. By someone else. Someone I didn’t f*****g recognize—at first. She was completely bare, her limbs tangled in my sheets like some twisted nightmare.
