Eddie left the waiting room and asked a passing nurse where Kalea’s room was. She guided him to the VIP ward in the hospital, and he was happy to see that Kalea was resting peacefully with only a blood pressure monitor attached to her finger. Eddie leaned over her and kissed her forehead before gently scooting her over so he could lie down next to her. He was careful not to disrupt the wires of the blood pressure monitor. As soon as he got a comfortable position, Kalea slightly turned and draped herself over him. Eddie smiled, held her close, breathed in her scent, which was now fully potent, and fell asleep.
