CHAPTER 33: MOM IS IN THE HOSPITAL
AMANDA'S POV:
I sat alone in my class when my phone suddenly vibrated in my pocket. Luckily, there was no teacher in the classroom at the moment. The vibration felt like an electric shock. I pulled my phone out, hiding it under the desk.
It was Mia. My heart sank instantly. Mia never calls me during school hours unless the world is ending.
"Hello?" I whispered, my voice low and shaking.
"Amanda, it’s Mom," Mia’s voice was thick with tears, sounding so small and terrified. "The ambulance just left. They’re taking her to the pack clinic. She just... she collapsed in the kitchen, Amanda. She wouldn't wake up."
