There was another knock at the door. This time it was louder.
At the same moment Elena dropped her arms, so did Massimo. In practically the same breath, they pulled apart. Wordlessly, they both put on one of the Grand Mermaid Hotel's complementary robes and headed to the door.
Massimo opened the door to reveal Luna and Elio. They were both smiling—which was a good sign, hopefully.
"Sorry, we thought you'd be up by now," Elio said. He casually put his hands in his pockets as he glanced at Luna before looking back at Massimo. "We're treating everyone to breakfast today, so meet us in the lobby when you're ready."
