Massimo was shocked. Why were the Conti members suddenly insisting they had to leave? It made no sense.
"What's going on?" Massimo asked.
"I can't say," Nico said with a frown. "But personal matters have come up, so we must go home."
"Surely you don't all need to leave," Massimo insisted. "Better yet, don't you have any other members of your family back home who can take care of this issue?"
"It's not that simple," Nico replied.
"Then explain why it isn't," Massimo hissed.
Elena took a step closer to Don Nico Conti. She understood Massimo's feelings, but pressing Don Conti was sure to lead to more problems than solutions.
"At least let us take you to the airport," Elena said. It was the only offer that felt appropriate to both her boss and his guests.
