“What’s wrong?” I asked Aiden. He was reluctant to respond for a while. “You have to tell us,” I demanded and he took a deep breath.
“More like I have to tell you.” He let out a sigh, giving me a sympathetic look. “I’ve found your father’s killer.” He announced and my heart stilled in my chest.
“Who is it?” I choked out, my throat tight with emotion. My mind was racing as I tried to process the information I had just heard.
Aiden held my gaze, his expression solemn. “It’s your mother,” he confessed, the truth landing like a punch to the gut.
“My mom…mother? Wh…at?” I stuttered as I tried to come up with a coherent sentence. What did he mean by my mother was the one who killed my father? My father was killed by hunters. What reason did she have to kill my father?
