After practice, the team was aware of the flag football game I had organized for the children’s hospital. Participation was completely optional, but I was pleasantly surprised that the majority of the team planned to be there.
Most of the guys have kids of their own, so it shouldn’t have been that surprising, but it was. They work hard on the field, and I wouldn’t blame them if they just wanted to go home instead of playing flag football with a bunch of kids.
Even our cheerleaders were excited to help out, teaching cheers for the kids who couldn’t physically participate in the game. It makes me proud to be part of this organization.
As I set up the boxes of T-shirts to give to each child and the adults who came today, I heard a voice behind me.
