I honestly have no idea what to make of Macey’s mother. She is definitely self-absorbed, but at the same time, I think she genuinely cares about her daughter.
I’ll admit, the woman is actually fun to talk to. She has a knack for saying things that make you laugh.
But what surprises me most right now is her confession that she had me investigated. Normally, I might be offended, but considering everything about Macey’s family, I see it as a twisted sort of love.
“Yeah, sorry for being normal?” I said, breaking the silence.
Macey’s mom turned to me, waving her hand dismissively. “Please. Trust me, sometimes being normal is a good thing.”
