Raven’s POV
Standing at the foot of my grandfather’s throne, I stared up at him, not only captivated by the flickering flames in his eyes but also mesmerized by their familiarity. It was as if I was looking into my mother’s eyes once again, feeling a connection that I thought that I had lost forever.
Neither my grandfather nor I said a single word as we continued to awkwardly stare at each other, while everyone else in the room remained eerily silent. Weirdly as it may sound, I think we both were comparing each other’s features to my mother’s, because the way my grandfather was now staring at me, I could almost feel an emotional pain that was now present in his eyes.
