“Please forgive me.” My grandfather said as he moved to stand, before he reached his hand out towards me, but instead of accepting his apology and hand, I took a step back from him.
My rejection must have sparked something inside of him, because his eyes began to flicker between the glowing red back to our family familiar, as he looked like he was trying to fight the darkness.
Closing his eyes, he turned his back to me, while he yelled out, “Everyone out!” Before I watched him stumble forward, reaching for the arm of his throne to steady himself.
