As if our father turned a deaf ear to his brother’s words, he handed Mrs. Jacobs’ body over to Chance, giving him instructions, before Chance and Chase took off through the rooftop door with Jessica and Mrs. Jacobs in their arms. Our father stood there with his back turned to his brother, until he knew that Chance and Chase had made it down the first flight of stairs.
