Chase’s POV
Damn it, I was a freaking fool for thinking that Raven could love me the way that she loved my brothers. I should have known that even with her seeing me for who I truly was, that it wouldn’t ultimately change the way she thought about me.
What happened between us last night had to have been a result of Lexi’s damn witchcraft s**t. I should have realized that something was going on when she had trapped us in that room together.
There was no doubt in my mind that the dumb witch pumped some kind of s****l pheromones into the room to overwhelm me and my wolf with the temptation of our mate. It was the only thing that made sense to me, because why else would I have all of a sudden caved in, allowing Raven to see my damaged heart, after I had worked so hard to hide it from her.
