Raven’s POV “That’s it. Close your eyes and take long, steady breaths while you slowly count to ten… Then focus on the sound of your heartbeat, muting out everything else around you…” I did as he said, afraid to hesitate, worried that this darkness that he spoke of was the same darkness that I had seen in my grandfather. But as I followed his instructions to the tee, I realized that this method was the same damn method that had been taught to me at the juvenile mental institution for my panic attacks, after the car crash. It had been the only method that had worked to subdue the attacks that had abruptly come on after the death of my parents. But right now, as I listen to my heart steadily beating in my chest, I was questioning if those attacks were more than just a normal human panic
