For one thing, I hated heights, and for two, I think that maybe I might just want to take my chances with the creature eating me rather than me taking the chance of surviving the fall. Unfortunately, though, it didn’t seem as if Mazie was going to allow me to take my own chances, because as another growl rumbled even closer towards us, she dug her heels into the ground and took off running straight towards me.
Mazie didn’t even give me a second to respond to her, but in a way, I think it was for the best, because before I knew what was happening, Mazie’s arms were wrapped around me, sending us flying over the edge. As my body went sailing backwards, my eyes spotted a pair of massive glowing red eyes, emerging from the forest, sending a chill throughout my body.
