“Who’s this?” Colby asked when he opened his front door, giving my new bodyguard a distrusting once over.
“Colby,” I said, smiling with annoyance, “friend and swimmer extraordinaire, meet Zane, one of two new bodyguards Mr. Dominic is forcing me to keep around because he doesn’t believe that Lila’s vision was just a nightmare.”
Colby raised his eyebrows, glancing between us. He stayed firmly planted in the doorway, not letting us in quite yet. “What if I don’t allow him in my house?”
I turned to Zane to let him answer the question. The bodyguard towered over me, his hands folded calmly in front of him.
