Nova
I stepped away from Dominic, staring at the wet ground.
“Nova,” he said again, not understanding what was happening.
My body didn’t understand either. It was desperate for him to keep touching me, but I couldn’t ignore my rage any longer.
“Why did you grab my glass of wine like that?” I felt so strange asking him this with my jeans and underwear still around my ankles.
He looked shocked, like he couldn’t keep up with what was happening.
“You said it was from Beth,” he said like that was sufficient explanation. He even raised his eyebrows and looked me over as if to suggest that we get back to what we were doing.
The hot water sprayed just behind him, but the steam was no longer enough to keep me warm. I wrapped my arms around myself.
