That night when it was time to have dinner we all sat around the table and mom and dad were acting a little strange at the table, Carter looked unsure of what to say to them. I knew what he wanted to say, but even I wasn’t sure how it was going to go over. Mom and dad weren’t themselves. I don’t think I had seen them this quiet before.
“Beta Ben, Mrs. Nolan. There’s something that I need to discuss with you.” Carter said.
“And what’s that?” Dad asked.
“Well, it seems like Noah is causing a lot of trouble with Aria. He’s deliberately trying to come between us. I want to make sure that she’s safe and Noah isn’t going to let her go without a fight. I think it might be best if we try and get out of here without Noah knowing about it. The sooner the better.” Carter explained.
