"You really promise not to tell anyone?" I asked, giving Kaizen a small smile.
"Never," he growled playfully as he wrapped his arms around me. "This part of you is only for me."
"You're lucky that I believe you," I sniffled, my hiccups finally gone. "I don't leave loose ends."
Kaizen laughed at that. A real laugh. The kind that I rarely ever hear from him. And I hate how happy that stupid sound made me.
But just for a little while, I'm going to let myself be in this moment.
"How are you feeling? Do you have a headache?" Kaizen asked, worry creasing his brow.
"A little," I admitted as I stared into those jade-green orbs.
"I'll go get you some—"
