"Baby, please let me come see you," Calix begged, his voice soothing me through the phone.
I looked over at Odie who was trying to imitate some fighting move she's currently watching on TV. Ty and Whip recently got her into anime. She loves it and now wants to be king of the pirates when she's older. It's honestly too adorable.
"Not tonight, Cal."
"You've said that the last few times I've asked," he grumbled.
"I know, I'm sorry."
"You said you wouldn't ignore me again Naddy," he said, his voice low and vulnerable in a way that broke my heart.
"I'm not trying to Calix, I swear," I replied. "I just... I got into it with War a few days ago. I'm still pi.ssed."
