Kael’s POV
Elena was pregnant. Her emotions were already fragile, and Nolan had kept his distance to protect the secret of the challenge. But silence could hurt just as much as the truth.
“Don’t try to be the hero,” Callum warned him. “Fight. Do whatever damage you can. But once you are badly injured, pretend to lose consciousness and stay down.”
Nolan lifted his eyes again.
“Viktor is proud,” Callum continued. “Once he believes you are no longer a threat, he will leave you alone. He won’t waste time finishing a fallen Gamma when two Alphas remain in front of him.”
The plan depended on Viktor’s arrogance, but that was the safest part of it. If there was one thing we could trust, it was that Viktor believed himself superior to everyone.
