By the time I reached Silverlake, my hands were aching from gripping the steering wheel.
I drove straight towards Ash Hollow Complex, barely paying attention to the familiar roads around me. Maya had insisted that people no longer called the area the rogue village because she and Darius lived there now, but the old name remained trapped in my mind. It was impossible to forget what the place had once represented.
It was where wolves without packs had been pushed to survive.
It was where I had first seen how men like Kael were treated simply because they did not belong anywhere.
