“Hey.” My voice was low.
“Where are you, Valerie?” My mom’s concerned voice echoed from the other end of the line.
I let out a deep sigh.
Even if she hadn’t said it, I knew Patrick must’ve asked her to call me. Since I blocked both numbers, he had no choice but to run to my mother.
“I’m not home. Why are you asking?” I demanded, pretending I had no idea why she asked. “Is everything okay with Liam?”
My mother let out a soft chuckle. “What happened? Why did you leave the villa? You were meant to stay there for three days.”
I scoffed. “Patrick should find someone else to play with,” I replied, rolling my eyes. “I don’t have time for his silly games.”
