Dane went to work the next morning, and I stayed home to finish a few things before our appointment with Melissa. Everything we needed was already together, but I checked the folders anyway. I didn't want to get there and realize we'd forgotten something important. By the time I finished, I was more than ready to get out of the house.
Dane came home with enough time for us to leave together. He changed his shirt, grabbed his keys, and met me by the door. I picked up the folders from the table. We headed outside and got into his truck.
"You nervous?" Dane asked.
"A little."
"Why?"
"Because I want this to go well."
"It will."
