Seraphina POV
An hour later, we are in the SUV on our way back to the penthouse. I know Eli should be in his booster seat but can't bring myself to let him go yet. When we finally reach the parking garage, Kael helps me out of the car but makes no move to take Eli from me. Once we are inside, I take him to his room and help him get ready for bed. He picks out his favorite pajamas and I tuck him into bed. I press kisses all over his cheeks and he giggles. Despite everything that happened tonight, he can giggle.
"Mom, are you mad at Kael," Eli asks.
I look at him confused. I hate the worry I see in his eyes.
"No, I'm not mad. Kael didn't do anything wrong. In fact, he protected you. I'm grateful because you are the most important person in my life, Eli. Why did you think I was mad at K
