Dawn broke cold over the Storm estate.
Wendy had just learned that her daughter had been taken to the ancestral mansion by Adrian's men. She immediately erupted into hysterics.
Grabbing Marcus by the arm, she demanded they go confront Adrian immediately.
Marcus made a few calls first. When he learned that Gloria had also gone to the estate, he hesitated.
But Wendy kept adding fuel to the fire—every word dripping with victimhood and paranoid accusations. Finally, he had no choice but to bring her along to check on the situation.
If their daughter was being mistreated, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing.
The moment they arrived at the ancestral estate, Wendy's wailing reached Gloria's ears.
