Chapter 19: Agreement

1012 Words
Alexander's POV "What the f**k is that?" I snapped at Sophia, my voice booming through my office as I slammed the door shut behind us because how dare she. How dare she step into my kingdom, touch me and then claim to be my betrothed mate in front of Maya. I know that she was trying to look strong for me and everybody else but I saw more than that in her eyes. l saw the heartbreak, the disappointment and the pain because she may lie all she wants but I see her. "What was what?" She asked, tilting her head with an innocent smile that made my blood boil. I don't why in my right space of mind I thought I could put up with her for the rest of my life because I can't even spend 10 minutes looking at her face without wanting to break my head over the wall. "Because I don't understand how a week after signing an agreement between us and agreeing to our wedding, you decided to host a massive summit event without inviting me or my father." Fucking hell. I just wanted to slap the s**t out of her right then and there. But she better be thankful that I don't touch a woman, no matter how much she pisses me off. "Don't play these stupid games with me, Sophia," I said. Because the both of us knew the truth. This is purely a political agreement. I need all the help I could get for this hybrid issue, and her father, the Vampire King could be a worthy ally in the future. After years of searching I was convinced that I would never find my mate again. I thought my true mate was dead or never existed. So I thought, why not? "Yes, but an agreement that you agreed to nonetheless" she said looking around my office. "And an unbreakable one at that." She said those words with a cruel, victorious smirk, reminding me of the absolute mess I had just made of my life. My mind flashed back to Maya again. She was starting to Meltdown her walls for me but now she's slipping away from me. I stepped into Sophia's personal space, towering over her. My Alpha power exploded out of my body, flooding the entire office with a suffocating, terrifying pressure. "I refuse to have a little girl like you, who thinks that playing on grown-up ground gives her some sort of ultimatum, dictate my life" I whispered, my eyes glowing a dark, dangerous blue in the dim light. "Don't mess with me, Sophia. You don't know what I'm capable of. Your father may be the Vampire King, but I'm going to be your absolute worst nightmare if you try to pull a stunt like that again." Her smile flickered for a split second, her pale vampire face going slightly white under the weight of my lethal command. But she quickly pulled herself together, adjusting the silver crown on her head. I don't even get why she decided to even wear that s***. "So now you listen to me, and you listen to me good," I growled, pointing my finger at her face. "I want you to get out of my kingdom right now, and I never want to see you back here again." But that's the thing about vampires, they alway think that they're above the program. "Well, that is going to be an issue, my King," she said, her sweet voice turning cold and manipulative. "Because my father just sent me here to stay at the Royal Palace until our wedding day next month. And that ultimately means that I'm here forever." "You have five minutes to pack your bags and leave," I said through clenched teeth. "Or what, Alexander?" She asked, taking a step closer to me. "Are you going to break our alliance? The contract is signed in blood. "If you break it, my father will declare war on the Kingdom. Is your pride really worth the destruction of your entire kingdom?" She was trying to back me into a corner but what this stupid vampire princess doesn't understand is that I just found my meat after years of searching and I refuse to let anything of anybody come between us. "You seemed very pleased with the agreement that we can go and all of a sudden Everything Has Changed." she asked like she was seeing through my soul and I wanted to tell her the truth. I don't want to hide my mate from anybody because I'm proud of her and nothing anyone would change that but I can't do that to her because I can tell that she's not ready for our mate Bond let alone anybody knowing. " I just realized that spending the rest of your life with somebody who you will never love is not a good idea." I stated out the obvious because even without Maya you can tell that me and Sophia are very much different. She's a viper and don't get me wrong because Maya is one as well but the differences that Maya would never bite home but Sophia would. "You should start learning to love me because I think I'm already halfway there." She said with a manipulative smile but I know she's lying and for some reason she wants this to happen more than I do. "I don't get trapped by contracts, Sophia. And nobody tells me who I am going to marry." "We'll see about that," she smiled walikg towards the office door. "I've already been assigned the guest suite on the third floor. I suggest you come back out to your guests before people start asking why the King is hiding in his office with his future bride. We don't want to give them a room idea about what we were doing" She turned around with a triumphant smile. I'll deal with her and her good for nothing father soon but for now I have to find my mate and explain everything to her.
