My heart flew out of my chest, he sounded like something around had happened back in Japan. My mind immediately wandered back to my family, I hoped they were okay.
“Why? What happened?” I asked, preparing myself for his response.
There was a brief silence and the suspense was killing me. “Kaiden! Can you please speak?” I asked, my patience growing thin.
Kaiden sighed. “Calm down, Layla.” He replied. “There’s an important business meeting and I need you to be present.”
I rolled my eyes and let out a relieved sigh.
I was glad that everything was okay but I was still frustrated by how passed the information. “You didn’t think to start with that?” I asked. “You scared me.”
