As I walked into the room, I saw Lucas and Akira staring at each other awkwardly.
“What is going on?” I asked, my eyes darting between them.
Akira placed her hands on her lips as though she was thinking hard about something. “I just told him that he has the same eyes as Lily.”
Her statement caught me off-guard. “What?” I asked as I laughed nervously. Akira was actually right. Lily and Lucas had hazel almond shaped eyes.
“Don’t you see it?” She asked as she attempted to climb out of the bed.
I stopped her before she could leave. “Yes, I see it.” I replied, gesturing for her to sit back. “Do you want ice cream?” I asked, flashing the shopping bag on her face.
Her eyes lit up with excitement. “Yes, I do!” She exclaimed.
