“Want to go out to watch the stars?” Nikolai asked as we cleared off the table together.
“That would be a nice way to end the day,” I agreed.
“I’ll go get the blankets.” Rafael went into the room and came out with two thick blankets before heading to the back. I made a move to walk out as well, but before I could register it, Nikolai was lifting me off the ground with one hand.
“Nikolai!” I hissed, taken aback.
“Relax, baby.” He laughed. “I won’t let you fall.”
I didn’t say anything to that because I knew he would never let me fall.
