As I pulled out my phone, Dimitri’s name flashed on the screen. Why was he calling me? I hesitated for a while before answering, my curiosity getting the best of me.
“Is Aiden with you?” Dimitri’s voice was urgent. “I’ve been trying to reach him for hours now.”
“Yeah, Aiden is with me. What’s going on?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
There was a pause on the other side of the line and for a moment, I thought I’d lost the connection. But then, Dimitri’s voice came back, his words dropping like a bombshell.
“Tell him to drive you back to Hawkins as soon as possible. We have your mother hostage.”
