James explained to me the spotting that Ruby was having, the risks of Ruby losing the baby, and that I should be prepared for the worst but hope for the best. I wanted to cancel the party, but James said it wasn't necessary, just not let her overdo it. Whatever that meant. I will have to watch Ruby and, if she is getting tired, make sure she rests, but I won't push her, or she will rebel, and I can't risk that. Maybe the spotting was a blessing in disguise, keeping Ruby from doing crazy things. I bet they had already been planning.
Cora was the one who suggested moving next door and getting ready for the party there. If we are away from the office, we will be free from the temptation to check on what the men have found. They will come with us to the party, get dressed at Cora
